I don't know what Northwestern's motto is, or if we even have one, but I believe that I have the perfect one. Good mottos should all be in Latin. The reason for this is that it makes us appear smarter than we actually are. They should also be short and to the point. And it has to have a repetitive sentence structure.
Imagine:
Northwestern College
Aut Disce Aut Discede
First person to figure out what this means wins.

I am so stupid. I searched the internet, and found what it meant. Then I checked the comments and it turned out sarah already had the answer. I should think first next time.
how bout this for a latin saying, Amor est vitae essentia. first one to guess wins
Love is the essence of life.
...and Sarah, it's "either learn or leave"
by the way, Charity, I have 5 other latin sayings on my blog if you wish to guess what they mean. some are so pointless, i wonder why any one thought to translate it into Latin.
